Glistening Green – Prints

The iridescent greens and blues bouncing off the broad-billed hummingbird as it zips around are simply stunning.  It’s not only their brilliant colors and amazing acrobatics that make these birds beyond fascinating.  In general, hummingbirds flap their wings over 50 times per second, have heartbeats exceeding 1,200 beats per minute, consume about half their weight in food each day, and accomplish over a 2,000 mile migration journey twice each year.  We can’t forget to mention how that long tongue coils up inside the head around the back of the eye.  The boundless creativity behind the design of these little wonders is truly amazing.
